Google Drive Integration!

Happy Thursday, Siasto users!

Some of you may have already noticed, but we recently completed our Google Drive integration! In this post I'll show you how to use the Google Drive with Siasto, and talk about some of the benefits.

First up: Importing your Google Drive files into Siasto. Head to the "Files" tab within a project. Once you're there, click the "Import Files" button, then select the Google option.

As you can you can see below, you can now import any of the files in your Google account – not just docs and spreadsheets! Note that imported files will not count against your space limit in Siasto.

Once you've imported your files from Google Drive, you can organize them into folders the same way you can with your other SIasto files.

And, of course, just as you can edit your Google docs and spreadsheets from right inside Siasto, you'll be able to edit other file types as well:

We're really excited about the Drive integration, as it makes Siasto even more powerful as your central hub for file collaboration. We'd love to hear your feedback, so please let us know what you think!

I frequently use google docs to record action items that result from meetings. It would be a tremendous help if I could create tasks from the list of action items in the google doc.

Thanks for the suggestion Adam! Do you mean so you can just import a list into Siasto?

One tip I found is that if you change the sharing on the Google document itself to be shared and edited with a link then anyone on your team can see and edit the document. Probably not suitable for really really confidential stuff but for working documents is a reasonable compromise.
