Buenos dias Siasto users!
Recently we released a discussions feature, which allows you to create conversations with your teammates. In this post we will explore some of the benefits.
In brief, discussions are a great way of recording and organizing conversations with your teammates. Not only can you create discussions about a project itself, but your comments on the tasks/files within a project will also be turned into discussions.
The discussions you have about a project will be saved there forever, so you can easily come back to them later. There's even a super-fast search feature, which comes in handy if you have a lot of discussions. All-in-all, viewing discussions within the context of a project is much more efficient than having to wade through piles of old email.
As you can see in the screenshot below we are able to quickly interact, and agree what our upcoming tasks will be for the week.
The benefits of being able to record this conversation about our upcoming week are three-fold:
- We now have a reference point for the end of week audit on our progress.
- We can easily share ideas and images within the course of a discussion (as you can see above we have inserted a logo).
- Keeping track of agreed targets in conversation is much easier than forgetting them, as seems to happen with in person conversations.
But wait – there's more! When you create a discussion, you can choose exactly which teammates you want to include. Everyone who's part of the discussion will receive email notifications whenever there's a new comment. You can even add comments to the discussion by replying to these emails directly from your inbox.
As you can see below, the email includes the title of the discussion, and the most recent comment:
The best part about getting email notifications about discussions is that it saves you time. If you're like me and you keep your email open constantly, you'll know about new discussions the instant they're started. And since you can reply directly from your inbox, it's easy to go from reading to participating.
This can be very useful with client work, for example. Instead of being forced to log into Siasto, clients can simply add their comments from their inbox.
You may have noticed how important your feedback is to us, and the discussions feature was something that we had been planning for a while, but when we got so many requests from you guys we realized it was something we should prioritize.
So if you are someone who has been on the fence about moving over to Siasto, we would love to hear from you with any suggestions you might have.
